THE NIJMEEGSE STUDENTEN HONOURSVERENIGING

The Nijmeegse Studenten Honours Vereniging (NSHV) is the student association in Nijmegen for honours students at Radboud University. For years, the NSHV has been working to promote contact among students and contribute to their personal and academic development. We do this by organizing various activities, such as social gatherings, workshops, barbecues, symposia, and annual study trips.

Anyone who is currently enrolled in or has completed an honours program at Radboud University (RU) can become a member of NSHV. Students who have not participated in an honours program can become friends of NSHV. Both members and friends of NSHV are welcome to participate in all organized activities. RU offers various honors programs, both disciplinary and interdisciplinary, across all faculties and stages of education. This makes NSHV a student association with members from various academic disciplines and study phases, creating a vibrant community where everyone is welcome.

About us

HONOURS ASSOCIATION

We represent all students who are currently following or have previously followed honors education at Radboud University. Our association has an interdisciplinary nature, which means that our members come from various disciplines, including psychology, economics, law, computer science, and more!

200+ MEMBERS

Our association has over 200 members, a significant portion of whom actively participate in the association and the activities we organize. In the current academic year, we are strongly focusing on our growth.

14 YEARS OLD

The NSHV has been advocating for all honors students for over 14 years. This is reflected in a wide range of diverse activities throughout the entire year.

5 COMMISSIONS & 3 TEAMS

Within our association, our committees and teams ensure that every member feels represented in the organized activities. Every member and donor has the opportunity to join a committee or team to make a meaningful contribution to the NSHV.

WHAT IS HONOURS EDUCATION?

Enthusiastic, motivated students can do something extra alongside their studies to further their development. At every stage of their studies – bachelor and master – students can participate in an honors program or honors lab. The structure and content of honors programs are diverse and constantly evolving. In these programs, students might, for example, conduct research abroad, work in a small team on a current theme, organize a conference, or gain practical experience in a field. Honors labs are short-term experiments that students can take part in.

Committees

Committees consist of members who actively want to contribute to the NSHV. They do this by organizing activities throughout the year. As a token of appreciation for active participation in our association, we organize two yearly activities for all active members, and every active member receives a yearbook called 'Prisma.' We have a formal committee, informal committee, travel committee, sports committee, and culture committee.

We also have teams which run for a shorter time than a committee. Right now we have a merch team and a party team.
