THE NIJMEEGSE STUDENTEN HONOURSVERENIGING

The Nijmeegse Studenten Honours Vereniging (NSHV) is the student association in Nijmegen for honours students at Radboud University. For years, the NSHV has been working to promote contact among students and contribute to their personal and academic development. We do this by organizing various activities, such as social gatherings, workshops, barbecues, symposia, and annual study trips.

Anyone who is currently enrolled in or has completed an honours program at Radboud University (RU) can become a member of NSHV. Students who have not participated in an honours program can become friends of NSHV. Both members and friends of NSHV are welcome to participate in all organized activities. RU offers various honors programs, both disciplinary and interdisciplinary, across all faculties and stages of education. This makes NSHV a student association with members from various academic disciplines and study phases, creating a vibrant community where everyone is welcome.

About us

HONOURS ASSOCIATION

We represent all students who are currently following or have previously followed honors education at Radboud University. Our association has an interdisciplinary nature, which means that our members come from various disciplines, including psychology, economics, law, computer science, and more!

300+ Leden

Onze vereniging telt meer dan 300 leden, waarvan een groot deel actief betrokken is bij de vereniging en de door ons georganiseerde activiteiten. Het huidige academische jaar zetten wij sterk in op onze groei.

15 jaar oud

De NSHV maakt zich al meer dan 15 jaar sterk voor alle honoursstudenten. Dit is terug te zien in een breed aanbod van verschillende activiteiten gedurende het hele jaar.

commissies

Binnen onze vereniging zorgen onze commissies ervoor dat ieder lid zich gerepresenteerd voelt in de georganiseerde activiteiten. Ieder lid en donateur is in staat om aan een commissie deel te nemen om zo zelf een krachtige bijdrage te leveren aan de NSHV.

WHAT IS HONOURS EDUCATION?

Motivated and enthusiastic students can take on something extra alongside their studies to further develop themselves. At every stage of their academic journey – bachelor's, pre-master’s, and master’s – students can participate in an honours programme or honours lab. The structure and content of these honours programmes are diverse and constantly evolving. For example, students might do research on a topic of their choice, work in a small interdisciplinary team on a current issue, or get hands-on experience in a particular field. There's also the option to join an honours lab, where you dive into a current topic over the course of a few weeks.

Board

During the academic year 2025-2026 zet het XVIe bestuur zich in voor een onvergetelijk jaar voor alle NSHV-leden.

Julia Quax, our chair, conducts meetings and ensures the proper functioning of the board.
Dominik Amrik, our secretary, is responsible for our administration and communication with our members as well as the Radboud Honours Academy.
Carmen McEwan, our treasurer, is responsible for the budgets of the NSHV and our committees and teams.
Nora Jacobs, our commissioner of external affairs, is responsible for contacting companies and securing sponsorship deals.
Jitske de Vries, our commissioner of internal affairs, ensures the proper functioning of our committees and teams.
Sita Chumsena, our commissioner of promotion, is responsible for membership recruitment, our website, and our social media.

Committees

Commissies bestaan uit leden die actief een bijdrage willen leven aan de NSHV. Dit doen de commissies door gedurende het jaar activiteiten te organiseren. Als bedankje voor actieve deelname aan onze vereniging organiseren wij twee keer per jaar een activiteit voor alle actieve leden en ontvangt ieder actief lid een jaarboek genaamd het Prisma. Wij hebben een formele commissie, informelecommissie, reiscommissie, sportcommissie, innovatiecommissie, lustrumcommissie en cultuurcommissie
